The FA Cup fourth round kicks off this Friday with Bristol City v Bolton Wanderers and Arsenal v Man Utd. It was announced back in August that the Official Match Ball of the oldest national football competition in the world would be the Mitre Delta Max.
The deal, which will run until 2020, will see Mitre Delta Max balls used across both the Men’s and Women’s FA Cup. The new footballs have a stunning design displaying the traditional Mitre V alongside a trophy and ribbon graphic.
The new Mitre football is also available as an affordable replica version in size 3, 4 and 5 and as a mini ball with the same impressive graphics. This will make the new Delta Max ball accessible to players at levels of the game.
Mitre is a British brand with a fine heritage and over 200 years of history so the partnership with the FA Cup is fitting.
On the announcement of the new partnership group commercial and marketing director at the FA Mark Bullingham said “We seek to maintain the highest of standards across all of our competitions, and it is fitting that we have chosen a manufacturer with a history of excellence as our official football supplier for the next three seasons.”
Mitre will replace Nike as the official soccer ball supplier for all competitions organised by the FA. Nike, still has one more year to run on its ball supply deal with the Premier League.
