Whilst Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane have been hitting the headlines for their goal scoring exploits this season, their figures may be slightly eclipsed by Warren Bentley.
The Winchester striker netted a hatrick on Easter Monday to take his goal scoring tally for the season to 41 and in doing so became the top goalscorer in England’s top eight divisions.
This means that he has now scored more goals than Vardy and Kane combined!
The 25-year-old, who grew up playing junior football with Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, said “My ratio is improving slowly. I think every goalscorer in non-league knows exactly how many they are on after each game.
“I am quite happy playing non-league football, but like any boy’s dream, you want to play professionally.
“I am ambitious and if the opportunity came up this summer I would probably like to pursue it.”
Surley he could be worth a punt for a few goal shy Football League sides!
