WHO knew that women’s football was a four-aside sport?
Of England’s Euro 2022-winning stars, only captain Leah Williamson (OBE), Beth Mead, Lucy Bronze and Ellen White (all MBEs) were handed gongs in the New Year Honours List. Perhaps coach Sarina Wiegman, who became an honorary CBE, could play as a rush goalie and make it a more acceptable five-a-side team?
As for the other 19 women involved in the squad? Well, in Weakest Link terms, they all leave with nothing.
In fairness, not everyone has Sol Campbell level...
