Late Tackle

Welcome to Late Tackle – Edition #98

Well, if you haven’t won a major domestic honour for 70 years, you might as well make the most of it.

Newcastle certainly partied hard after their Carabao Cup success against Liverpool and it’s hard to begrudge them their moment in the sunshine.

But can Eddie Howe and his troops go on to even bigger and better things under their Saudi ownership?

That will certainly be the aim and bagging a trophy has certainly given the club a shot in the arm.

In this edition, Chris Dunlavy looks at the path ahead for the Magpies.

As usual we’ve got a real mix of articles to enjoy, whether it’s England’s start under Thomas Tuchel, the career of legendary broadcaster Barry Davies, Rod Stewart’s football passion or Jack Walker’s Blackburn dream.

Throw in Tottenham’s young stars, a dip into Non-League and overseas adventures, among others, and we reckon there’s something for everyone.

Thanks go to all our contributors. If you fancy writing for the magazine please get in touch. You can send submissions and ideas to [email protected]

We read everything that comes in and use the best stuff each issue. Please do remember that as the magazine is printed only every six weeks or so, we can’t use timesensitive pieces.

We just want stuff that is interesting, funny, poignant, insightful, or maybe even all four.

That aside, the main rule is there are no rules: as long as your piece is about football (pretty crucial, that) and on the right side of legal, we’ll consider it for publication.
