Welcome to Late Tackle – March & April 2025 Edition

Late Tackle March April cover 2025

When Jurgen Klopp announced just over a year ago that he would leave Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season, there was wailing and gnashing of teeth on the red side of Merseyside.

In his nine years at the helm, the German boss had put the Reds firmly back on football’s top table and there had been plenty of glory nights at Anfield.

It was never going to be easy to replace the charismatic manager who had captured the hearts of Liverpool fans all around the world, so you have to give credit to Arne Slot for the way he has stepped into some big shoes and guided Liverpool along.

The Reds are notching up victories with apparent ease and going for honours on all fronts, but the next few months will show whether Slot’s machine are the real deal.

In this edition, Robert J Wilson looks at the impact of the Dutch boss and the road ahead.

As usual, we have an array of articles that will hopefully cater for every taste.

Thanks go to all our contributors once again. If you fancy writing for the magazine please get in touch. You can send submissions and ideas to [email protected]

We read everything that comes in and use the best stuff each issue. Please do remember that as the magazine is printed only every eight weeks or so, we can’t use timesensitive pieces.

We just want stuff that is interesting, funny, poignant, insightful, or maybe even all four.

That aside, the main rule is there are no rules: as long as your piece is about football (pretty crucial, that) and on the right side of legal, we’ll consider it for publication.
