No sooner had the dust settled on the domestic season and everyone was already switching their attentions to the Euros.
It promises to be a great tournament in Germany and, fingers crossed, Gareth Southgate’s England side can give it a real go to bring the trophy home.
It is also going to be fascinating to see how Steve Clarke’s Scotland fare. They have the honour of kicking the tournament off against the hosts on Friday, June 14 and will be eager to pull off a major shock.
If they can reproduce the sort of form they showed in qualifying, then they’ll give the Germans something to think about.
As you’d expect, we’ve got plenty of Euro-related articles in this edition, including a look back to that memorable tournament on home soil in 1996 and a feature on the remarkable rise of Manchester United and England midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.
However, we have also got material on a host of other issues, including Arne Slot’s journey to the Liverpool hotseat and the recent debate about whether we should stick with VAR or pull the plug.
As always, thanks go to all our contributors.
If you fancy writing for the magazine please get in touch. You can send submissions and ideas to [email protected]
We read everything that comes in and use the best stuff each issue. Please do remember that as the magazine is printed only every six weeks or so, we can’t use time-sensitive pieces.
That aside, the main rule is there are no rules: as long as your piece is about football (pretty crucial, that) and on the right side of legal, we’ll consider it for publication.
We just want stuff that is interesting, funny, poignant, insightful, or maybe even all four.
