WELCOME TO LATE TACKLE

Can Sarina Wiegman’s Lionesses follow up their Euro success last summer by adding the World Cup to the trophy cabinet?

You’d like to think they would have a good chance as they prepare to head Down Under to take on the cream of the crop.

True, England will have to do it without the likes of injured stars Leah Williamson, Beth Mead and Fran Kirby, but there is still plenty of talent in the squad for Wiegman to call upon.

We look at the Lionesses’ prospects in this edition, but there are plenty of other topics covered.

We’ve got a real mix of features, whether it’s Garry Birtles talking about his rise to fame at Nottingham Forest, the most underrated players in the Premier League or Tottenham’s false dawns down the years.

Thanks, as always, go to all our contributors.

If you fancy writing for the magazine please get in touch. You can send submissions and ideas to [email protected]

We read everything that comes in and use the best stuff each issue. Please do remember that as the magazine is printed only every two months or so, we can’t use time-sensitive pieces.

That aside, the main rule is there are no rules: as long as your piece is about football (pretty crucial, that) and on the right side of legal, we’ll consider it for publication.

We just want stuff that is interesting, funny, poignant, insightful, or maybe even all four.
