MARTIN ROBERTS on a naming rights deal with a difference
“WHERE the heck’s Parkhouse, mate?”
It was an all-too-common cry for the Central Midlands Football side (step seven on the nonleague football pyramid) and a key reason behind the decision to rebrand this summer and name the side Clay Cross Town FC.
It was the first time the name had been put into use for 88 years and was a clear attempt to more closely align the football team with Clay Cross – a former mining town about six miles south of Chesterfield.
