The media absolutely adore a protracted transfer saga, despite their weary protestations when negotiations threaten to drag on. The newspapers chart the player’s on-off move, Twitter provides upto-the-minute updates, and the ever-bloodthirsty Sky Sports News plonk a poor reporter in front of either club’s training ground at 6am, hoping for a scoop and forced to fill the time by TALKING.
