And Brian Glover’s hilar-ious (albeit bullying) performance as a Bobby Charlton-obsessed PE instructor in Ken Loach’s classic 1969 film Kes is a prime – and cine-matically poetic – example that resonates. I mean, everyone likes to self-mythologise their amateur exploits on parks pitches, don't they?
