From August 1 the FA imposed a worldwide blanket ban on betting for all players and associated club employees. Before then players were barred from betting on any competition they could have been involved in. They were also prohibited from passing on inside information to someone for the purpose of betting. But the new rules will go even further.
It means if the kitman at Aldershot backed Germany to win the World Cup final, he’s guilty. If Cristiano Ronaldo wants to take a punt on Farnborough winning at home...
