SO here we are again, talking about winter in summer. As our chugging, red-faced footballers – those that weren’t injured – crashed out of the Euros to Italy, the national debate turned to why a major football trophy has never found a home on these shores in 46 years.
Among the issues, of which there are many, came fitness and fatigue and the inevitable question: is the English league and cup calendar simply too demanding?
